Due to lack of space, we cannot provide every class, therefore we will hold our classes on preference order. Please, note: fees will be dependent on the activity. 

IDENTITY RESTORATIVE  CLASSES

HUNGARIAN FOLK DANCE

(min 6−10 person, ideally 8-20)

From teens upward anybody can enjoy this amateur folkdance group – primarily for our own entertainment but we have participated in small Hungarian, English events. This is where people can enjoy our Hungarian folkdance show.

For our regular members, we may be able to provide the Performance Costumes free of charge.

HUNGARIAN HISTORY

(min 2–3 person)

This program intends to summarise the complete Hungarian history in an extraordinary way for adults. We recommend this class for all interested in history, who would like to see through the ages systematically, or the ones who would like to argue about the debates and questioned phenomena of Hungarian history.

All of this takes place within our interactive and creative seminar styled, discursive lesson.

HUNGARIAN LITERATURE

(min 2–3 person)

Poetry recital, memorising various literature including obligatory text books and poetry?

Many of us would be totally disinterested reading this description. But if we try to approach from a different perspective and teach with various methods, trying to analyse the text and work together, we can all have fun while learning new things about different times, and possibly about ourselves with interactive discussions. Everyone’s opinion is valued. The whole class is built around their needs and views, so get out the critical reflective thinking!

BOOK CLUB

(min 3–4 person)

This club has been created to help to promote reading in Hungarian. During the study group we discuss not only classical, but contemporary Hungarian authors’ books. The participants can decide what text they would like to work on, and they can also recommend books to other members. We also seeking  people who are interested in adult reading. 

The club members will decide together which book should be the next to buy from the collected membership fees.

HUNGARIAN CHOIR

(min 5-10 person, ideally 8-15)

The North-England Hungarian Choir was founded in January 2016. The choir have received a number of offers to perform for various organisations.

Singing can improve self-confidence, self-expression and can offer some form of spiritual satisfaction.  For those who like singing but might think : “I don’t have a good voice, I can’t sing”, we have good news, everyone can sing but you just have to learn how. Our qualified choir leader will help all individuals.

SELF-DEVELOPMENT

'STEND-UP' IMPROVIZATION DRAMA

(min 3−4 person)

Last years this was one of the most popular club amongst the young adults. We will continue to offer this club this year. This games, activities and challenges are based on a Hungarian popular television programme called: ‘Beugro’.

This course helps to improve self-confidence, creativity, associative communication, and improvisation techniques as well, while we are using various teaching methods within the different scenarios. 

But mostly, we enjoy ourselves and laugh a lot! Entertainment is guaranteed, so feel free to join.

FAMILY CONSTELLATION (FOR ADULTS)

(min 4–5 person, ideally 10-15)

Based on the family therapy method developed by Bert Hellinger, you can succeed in solving your problems and develop your personality within a short period of time. This is a so-called systematic phenomenological therapy. The method works with subjects submitted by the attendees, where the members support each other to work through the difficulties and finding solutions using spatial awareness therapy.

The sessions are led by our psychology expert. The sessions take place after school hours in the Hungarian Community Club.

YOGA

(min 2–3 person, ideally 5-8)

The benefits of Yoga are widely known. It has great benefits for both the body and soul. Learning the positions will strengthen the whole body, muscle structure, stretching and toning the body.  This can be an aid to weight loss, improve stamina and endurance. Individuals can sit better for longer period of time, and can learn meditation. 

Taking yoga classes on a regular basis has many other benefits: It can improve concentration help you to relax and improve general well-being. It can reduce stress and improve general health. 

All adults and 10+ children are welcome.

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

(min 3–4 person)

The most important element of becoming an adult is self-knowledge and communication skills; these will help living together in a family. We recommend this club everyone who are interested in this part of psychology, and would like to improve their self-awareness and conflict handling skill. We are also looking for young people who are struggling with relationship issues (either in school, work,  parent issues, or struggles with intimacy, self-confidence, self-esteem, etc). Furthermore, we also welcome anyone who would just like to spend an hour in a trust-worthy group where you can learn methods to solve everyday problems through situation exercises and creative tasks.

PSYCHODRAMA

(min 4–5 person)

Psychodrama is a personality and self-knowledge improving method. It will help solving problems through recognised and conscious feelings by given activities. The psychodrama helps on both cognitive and emotional level, we can playfully explore work-, relationship-, intimacy- related, or issues relating to self-confidence, self-esteem, etc.

Only qualified person can lead psychodrama classes. In cases of deeper problems it is done in closed groups, where others won’t be able to enter, securing a confidential environment for the attendees. At last, we now have a Hungarian-speaking expert, please come so that we can improve together.

SOCIAL AND NATIONAL IDENTITY

(min 3–4 peroson)

Those Hungarians who changed their countries at least once in their life, and their identity formed in a foreign country, they may find it difficult to identify it. For this reason, probably they will find it more difficult to find their Hungarian roots, traditions, events, famous ancestors or current people. We would like to help in this matter, through various activities, talks, so that they can see how they fit culturally in the UK  but also understand where their roots are, how to preserve traditions for the future generation. Our school’s programmes will contribute to help develop and reaffirm this. We also put emphasis on developing a social identity.

PRE SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

BABY-MUMMY CLUB

(min 2–3 babies)

Pre-school activities with instruments, music, singing and lots of games, with the guidance of an experienced infant childcare provider. At the end of the sessions opportunity to discuss various child care related topics with our trained childcare professional.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE LESSONS

SPEACH-CENTERED ENGLISH LESSONS

(min 4−12 person)

Speech-centered English is mainly a practical lesson, specially related to everyday topics that may occur either in a general language examination or in a lifetime, such as buying things, banking, telephone conversation with insurance company etc. These skills are indispensable in our daily lives so it is important for everyone to be able to express themselves in such situations. We will help you with our English teacher in this class.

ADVANCED ENGLISH LESSONS

(min 3–6 person)

For those who want to expand their vocabulary and want to gain an insight into English grammar: use of tenses, grammar, and sentence structure. improving pronunciation and reading will be covered during advanced English lessons. Our highly qualified and experienced in Hungary, Italy and in the UK. Our goal to get accreditations as a language institution.

HUNGARIAN AS FOREIGN LANGUAGE

We recommend this class to those who either no longer speak Hungarian or want to refresh their language skills or want to understand Hungarian words with Hungarian family members. With a very entertaining and exciting textbook as well as lessons using most modern teaching methods. Recommended for native or expert English speakers.
